This little collection of treasures sits on my writing desk, If you think this looks messy, you should see inside my head.
My books are about possibility. I have always experienced life as a never-ending library of ideas and adventures and it is my firm belief that we can reinvent ourselves and expand our identities at any age.
I tell stories about brave, ordinary people who do just that–redefine themselves in ways they couldn't have imagined; people who go on to have adventures that make them feel the corners of life.
I want my books to make you laugh and cry. But mostly, I want you to feel hopeful.

I live in an old stone farmhouse in the hills above Belfast with my family and a clattering of animals.
My life-long dream was to be a writer, but it wasn't until I was 50 that I decided to do something about it. I wrote two books in one year. Books are like buses, it seems. You wait 50 years for one and then two come along at once.
Small pleasures include: books, dogs, trees, open water, traditional crafts and Negronis. Preferably at the same time.
